Eric Samse

Eric has played drums since the age of five. He majored in music composition and performance with a percussion emphasis at the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh. He has played in groups ranging from duets to full symphony orchestras.

Some of the artists Eric has perrformed with are the Carpenters, John Denver, Clark Terry, Marlena Shaw, Bill Watrus, Eddie Daniels, Denny Goodhew, Roger Fisher (of Heart), and Greta Matassa. Eric has also performed with many groups such as the Washington Wind Symphony, the Seattle Pacific University Jazz Band, the Seattle Youth Jazz Band Organization, the Jazz Police, and Mach One Jazz Orchestra.

Currently, Eric performs with the James DeJoie Quartet and the Northwest Gospel Jazz Band. He can be heard on numerous recordings, including several with Mach One and James DeJoie, among others.

Eric's experience as a private teacher spans over 25 years, and Eric is in demand as a guest clinician and adjudicator with many local school districts and music education organizations.
